In 2010, James Killen Ltd took the decision that the time was right to invest in the future of the business by developing a structural steelwork design, fabrication and erection capability. This involved extensive refurbishment of our workshop and yard, and the purchase of brand new, state-of-the-art fabricating equipment and design software. We also employed a full-time Chartered Structural Engineer to help oversee the process, maintain our high professional standards, and also take overall design responsibility for all of our products.
This investment yielded immediate results, with the successful completion of our first two 62' clear-span broiler sheds in early 2011. Since then we have gone from strength to strength, having also delivered a number of enriched cage laying units, and the workshop continues to be busy, with a promising looking order book.
We can work directly for farmers to deliver buildings of our own design, tailored to their specific requirements, or within a more formal construction contract.
