Ventilation
Effective climate control is essential to the well-being of birds and a successful poultry business.
Ventilation systems fall into two categories – forced / controlled and natural - and James Killen Ltd will design housing that accommodates the system that’s right for you.
Forced Ventilation
We work with major suppliers of forced ventilation systems and ensure that our panels and roofs will incorporate the specific vents and fans supplied by these companies, including modern fan shaft ventilation.
Wind Baffles, Vent Boxes & Light Excluders
We supply external vent boxes and baffles which allow free air flow, without interference from prevailing winds. These features make it easier to clean houses.
When required, we also supply and fit light excluders.
Natural Ventilation
Natural ventilation systems use an open roof ridge to let foul air escape and side inlet vents to allow fresh air to flow into the house.
We have developed a rack and pinion mechanism which makes it easy to open and adjust ridge and side vent doors. This system can be installed with a manual or powered winch for simultaneous opening and closing.
All Killen vent doors are insulated and fitted with draft excluders. The latter improve the performance of the ventilation system by helping to direct the flow of fresh air.
Our open roof ridges are covered by a raised canopy which promotes the flow of foul air away from the house and increases the capacity of our units to withstand prolonged exposure to the elements. |
