 Broiler Units
Our first broiler units were built over 30 years ago and many are still in service. That’s what we mean when we talk about the quality and durability of a James Killen poultry house.
Killen designs meet the needs of individual farmers and major processors and our broiler houses meet the demanding standards of today’s agricultural industry, in terms of external and internal finish and the design features that modern units require.
We supply all segments of the market, including the intensive, high welfare, free range and organic sectors. It’s part of our job to listen to customers, monitor legislative and industry trends - including those concerning bird welfare - and react by developing new design features that improve the efficiency, profitability and bird welfare standards of modern broiler units.
Select Broiler / High Welfare Housing High welfare broiler houses have external windows to provide birds with natural light. We were one of the first companies to design and supply this type of housing, which incorporates double glazed windows and shutters operated by automatic or manually operated rack and pinion systems
We also upgrade existing broiler houses to ‘Select’ standards.
Free Range / Organic Broiler Units To meet increasing welfare standards, we now supply free range units with the option of double glazed windows and shutters. |
